Our Vision
Women Restored, Communities Transformed
Our Mission
To facilitate the holistic transformation of women in the context of prostitution through the love of Jesus
Holistic Approach
Our goal is to contribute to the holistic transformation of women who have been or are currently in prostitution, meaning we want to make an impact that addresses all areas of their lives through facilitating healing and training in a safe environment. When we work on transforming only one area of our lives, it is easy to fall back into unhealthy patterns, and we don't want to see this happen with any of our women. Focusing on a holistic approach to healing and empowering allows us to help our women learn how to take ownership of their lives and contribute positively toward the well-being of their family and their community.
We contribute to the United Nations
Sustainable Development Goal 5.2
Eliminate all forms of violence against all women and girls in the public and private spheres, including trafficking and sexual and other types of exploitation.
How We Do It
Outreach:
Each week, our team goes to the streets where our women work to connect with them. We call our women “Amadas,” which means “beloved ones” in Spanish because this is the most important message that we want them to receive - that they are beloved by God no matter their past or present circumstances. We show this by sitting and talking with them for a while, sharing a small snack, Bible verse, and a thought-provoking question. Before we go, we ask if they have any prayer requests and if they are open to it, we pray over them in that moment. We keep track of the prayer requests we receive and pray over each woman by name as a team throughout the week as well. By going out every week, we are able to build relationships and trust with these women. From this trust, we extend invitations to them to be more involved in our other activities, and we get to know their specific needs and how we can help.
As of September 2024, we have personally connected with over 280 Amadas this year so far!
Annual Events:
Each year we hold four large events: a super sale, conference, school supply distribution, and Christmas parties.
Super Sale: This event offers clothing and household items to our women for very low, symbolic prices. Through purchasing these items instead of receiving them as donations, the women's dignity and autonomy are affirmed.
Conference: Featuring an important Biblical message, our conference brings all of our women together for a time of learning and reflection, as well as to enjoy other activities and a chance to connect.
School Supply Distribution: At the beginning of the school year, we aid over 100 women get all the materials their children need to be successful in their studies.
Christmas Parties: Our largest event, the Christmas parties take place over 4 days at the beginning of December. These parties provide a wonderful opportunity to connect, talk and pray together, and of course, celebrate Christmas and the birth of our Savior.
Each of our events open the door for more opportunities to share the love and hope of Jesus Christ with our women!
Personal Development Plan:
The Personal Development Plan is a holistic program designed to equip and empower our women with the goal of having a long-lasting impact on their lives. We focus on four keys areas: mental health, spiritual growth, education, and employment. Our goal is to select 10-12 women each semester to join us on this transformative journey. Through intentional mentorship and support, we’ll help them to acquire effective tools and cultivate their unique skills and passions so that they can grow and improve in all areas of their lives. We believe that by holistically addressing all areas of life, we can have a permanent and life-changing impact on all those who complete the program.
EsperanzArt:
EsperanzArt is a transformational jewelry workshop that not only teaches women how to make jewelry, but also helps them to develop soft skills that will serve them in any job. "Esperanza" means "hope" in Spanish and this is what we want to share with our women - that there is hope, and that the true source of that hope is Jesus Christ. While working at EsperanzArt, they experience what a safe working environment is and should be like. Additionally, they develop soft skills such as time management, finance management, and interpersonal skills. Our women have the opportunity to work in EsperanzArt and earn a stable income while participating in other ESE programs. Learn more and check out this beautiful, handmade jewelry here!
Connecting to Other Resources:
Since we are a fairly small team and we cannot cover every need that our women have, we also have connections with other public and private organizations that can offer resources to our women that we cannot. We keep track of the needs the women express to us, then based on the connections we have to other organizations, we send them the information they need to benefit from the available resources that fit their needs. We are happy to be the bridge that connects our women to these resources, whether their need is related to mental health, physical health, pregnancy, academics, or something else!
